Common Printer Issues and Solutions
This guide will help you resolve the most common printer problems encountered at health facilities.
Printer Not Printing
- Check if the printer is turned on and connected to power
- Verify the USB or network cable is properly connected
- Ensure there is paper in the tray
- Check for paper jams by opening all access panels
- Restart the printer and your computer
Paper Jams
When experiencing a paper jam:
- Turn off the printer
- Open all access panels carefully
- Remove jammed paper by pulling gently in the direction of normal paper movement
- Close all panels and turn the printer back on
Poor Print Quality
If prints are faded or have streaks:
- Run the printer's cleaning utility from the control panel
- Check toner or ink levels and replace if needed
