Setting Up a New Computer in Your Facility
This guide will walk you through the process of setting up a new computer at your healthcare facility.
Initial Setup
- Unpack the computer and all accessories
- Connect the monitor, keyboard, and mouse
- Connect power cables and turn on the system
- Follow the operating system setup wizard
Network Configuration
- Connect to your facility's WiFi or plug in the ethernet cable
- Open Network Settings and select your network
- Enter the network password (available from your facility manager)
- Test connectivity by opening a web browser
Installing Required Software
- Install antivirus software first
- Install the EHR system software using the installation files on the shared drive
- Install Microsoft Office or LibreOffice for document processing
- Contact IT support if you need additional specialized software
